What is Publishing Mail?

This is the most effective channel for reaching loyal subscription customers and was previously known as "Presstream". If you are sending mail where at least one-sixth of the periodical contains editorial content, and is published and posted at least twice a year, this could be the most cost effective method of posting for you.

How will these changes affect me?

Depending on the service you currently use, you may see little or no difference. The main changes that may affect you are: -

• Improved delivery speeds – Second Class will now aimed to be delivered within 2 working days after posting rather than the previous 2 – 3 days.
  
  
• More choice on the type of mail you can post due to Royal Mail's new machine-readable, large letter specification, which includes a polywrap option.
  
  
• New prices – The new rates charged by Royal Mail come into effect on Monday 2nd April 2012, in addition to this, changes to the way the mail is sorted (now known as High Sort and Low Sort) may affect the price slightly. We can continue to post on your Royal Mail OBA (Online Business Account) using the new Publishing Mail codes.
